TikTok Update AI Preferences for Users

As audiences continue to adapt to ongoing platform changes, TikTok have announced plans to introduce the optionfor users to reduce – or increase -* the amount of AI content on their feed.

An interesting move from the platform as they continue to evolve AI tools for advertisers, this option will be availableto users in their ‘Manage Topics’ function, where they can currently edit their content preferences on the app.

With TikTok reporting that these changes will be tested ‘in coming weeks’, it’s an indicator that the platform is also working to improve its AI recognition abilities – as it will need to know if a piece of content is human or AI created inorder for this feature to work.

What will this mean for your clients?

The latest development in the evolution of AI across social and digital channels, this indicates that TikTok is keen forits audience and users to feel a sense of agency over their use of the platform.

For brands, we recommend, as always, that any use of AI in the creation of content is transparently disclosed tocontinue to build trusted relationships with audiences.
